Last week, I joined fellow members of the Veeam 100 community in Lisbon, Portugal, for the annual Veeam 100 Summit.

The Summit brings together Veeam 100 members from across the world to connect, collaborate, and share experiences in person. It provides exclusive an insight into Veeam’s strategy and product roadmap, while also offering the opportunity to engage directly with Veeam’s Product Management and Strategy teams, making it one of the most valuable community events of the year.
Long haul travel to Europe from New Zealand is never something to look forward to, especially when this year’s destination is almost exactly on the opposite side of the world!

That said, the long hours of travel and inevitable jet lag are always worthwhile for an event that brings together some of the brightest minds in the industry for a truly unique experience.
Day 1
The first day of the event kicked off with a warm welcome for both returning and new members, along with a recap of the year’s key highlights and achievements across the Veeam 100 program.

Following the welcome session, the day gathered momentum with a diverse lineup of sessions covering exclusive product roadmap discussions, previews of upcoming features, technical deep dives, and live demos, presented directly by the product owners behind Veeam’s solutions.
As much as I’d love to share more, the majority of the content presented during the summit is exclusive to Veeam 100 members and unfortunately can’t be shared publicly at this stage.
Day 2
The second and final day of the summit built on the momentum of the previous day, delivering another full schedule of valuable content, including several appealing sessions geared towards service providers.

We wrapped up the day with the ever popular AMA session, giving attendees the opportunity to put their Veeam related questions directly to the product and leadership teams.

Of course, no summit would be complete without the much-anticipated closing party to round out the event which was held at a venue with stunning views across the Tagus River.

Of course, it wasn’t all presentations and technical discussions. Between sessions and after the day’s activities, there was time to explore Lisbon and the surrounding area and take in the local culture. Whether enjoying the city’s unique charm, great food, or spectacular views, it provided the perfect balance to an otherwise busy week.

With this being my third year attending the summit, one of the things I value most is the opportunity to reconnect with incredible people from around the world, many of whom I’m fortunate to call friends. It’s a special part of the experience and something I look forward to each year.

Final Thoughts
It’s hard to believe another Veeam 100 Summit has already come and gone. While the week may have flown by, the insights, conversations, and connections that came from it are simply invaluable and will remain long in the memory.
Events of this scale don’t come together by chance, and the hard work of everyone involved was evident throughout the week. My thanks go out to the entire team behind delivering yet another outstanding summit, and for the opportunity to be part of it once again.
I’m already counting down the days until I can do it all again next year!
